Hi, I am Dan, a .NET developer and have been in the IT world since oh about 1995. I started a simple little web page HandPickedFreeware.com a while back as a test site for the web host product I was working for. It really just served as a handy place for me to re-download my apps on a new box or to refer friends that were interested in some of the freeware I was using.
I have decided to turn this site into a blog and give it a new name, now FreewareFavorites.com. I will still probably just use this as a place to get all my freeware apps when I need them in the future, however, I like to write reviews on my chosen apps and why I picked that particular freeware app from among the competing apps.
I am pretty picky about what apps get on my list, I only use real freeware apps and not trials, shareware, or demos, etc. It is also important to note, that I am a Windows guy and therefore all my apps listed here are for Windows unless it is a cross platform project.
