Homepage: LibreOffice
Download Size: 189 MB
Description: I have never posted Open Office before because it was such a well known free alternative to Microsoft Office. However, since Oracle took it over the project split leaving Open Office in the dust. The new Open Office is now LibreOffice.

Homepage: Foobar
Download Size: 3.1 MB
Description: This is my favorite audio player for straight up playing audio files. It does have a library manager, but I prefer Media Monkey for full audio library management. However, I love foobar for many other audio listening operations. It is great for combing through music or just listening to a stray file I don’t want in my library. This is a great program!

Homepage: Nirsoft
Download Size: 63 KB
Description: A light weight utility for viewing all your TCP/UDP ports. It has filter options, lots of sortable data columns to see everything about the process running on which ports. This is a great app to keep up on what connections your system has running.

Homepage: RivaTuner
Download Size: 2.6 MB
Description: This is a powerful utility to directly control your video card. With this you can tweak any number of things with your video card, either over-clocking or under-clocking your card whatever your needs require. I used it to under-clock when my card was over heating and needed to be RMA’d but I couldn’t send it for a few weeks. You can force fan speeds or change the core clock or memory clock of your card. Good stuff for sure.

Homepage: Chaos Manager
Download Size: 1.2 MB
Description: This is a handy, simple app that handles a wide range of organizational needs. It is a schedule manager with appointment alerts. It has contact management, a built in note manager with topics and formated text. It has a to do list, reminders, etc. etc. Very light weight and can hide to the tool tray. This is the best freeware organizer that I could find. It is packed with lots of features. Well done Martin Bresson!

Homepage: VideoLAN
Download Size: 17.6 MB
Description:This is the best open source video player out there. This has the codex built in for playing DVDs (for those still using XP). In addition this bad boy will actually play ISO files as if they were a video file! Love it! No more mounting ISOs to play movies. I just associate ISOs to VideoLAN and just double click to jump right into the movie.

Homepage: Krzysztof Kowalczyk
Download Size: 1.19 MB
Description: AHHHHH to be FREE of Acrobat Reader! That piece of software is so out of control! I can’t stand how bloated it is and how often it tries to update itself! Finally something light weight and fast. It even remembers the last page you were on in the PDF. I can’t even begin to pronounce the author’s name, but I’m sure glad he made this!
